I am a diversity, equity, inclusion, and access qualitative AT researcher examining the lived experiences of AT students in professional athletic training programs. I focus on the experiences of the student and how identity influences their experience in classroom education, clinical education, and their interactions within varying athletic training association involvement. I am grateful to those who take the time to share their experiences and the challenges they face to persist in higher education and the athletic training profession.

Advocacy

I have spent much of my career advocating for the profession of Athletic Training. I have served on the California Athletic Trainers' Association (CATA) Legislative Action Team and I have lobbied in our countries capital to advance awareness and recognition of the profession. I have worked with colleagues to plan legislative events that support local, state event. How we advocate and why we advocate are essential to understanding the important role athletic trainers play in the safety of all athletes at all levels of sport and daily living. Our healthcare knowledge and skill set is unique and it offers safety and care to thousands of patients across the United States.
